donut senget

mcm biasa, bila takde plan nak kluar, aku sejak masuk 3rd trimester ni mmg rajin offer mknn yg tak biasa dibuat kat husband dan anak.

“nak mkn donut?”

“boleh juga”

kali terakhir aku buat donut, masa mula2 kawin dulu. tu pun buat kat rumah mama. dan seperti kisah2 sebelum ni, aku mmg tak telefon mama utk tanya “mcm mana nak buat donut?”. ye la, benda tak selalu buat, mana lekat dlm kepala. kan?

aku ada tepung, ada dry yeast, ada butter, ada telur.. semua ada. tp mcm mana? aku terus visit allrecipes.com sbb aku mmg suka resepi kat situ (sejak mula dating dgn Ajek!! heheh).. ajek pun mmg suka apa yg aku telah hasilkan dari situ. ok. dah jumpa satu resepi yg mmg dapat rating tinggi. orait.. adam tido, kita uli tepung.

the recipe requires 7g of dry yeast, how should i do tht? i do not have any weighing devices in hand other than weighing scale utk manusia. haha.. ok kita halfkan je la dari dry yeast packet yg 11g tu. pastu, takde shortening. mana ada perkara2 sebegini dlm masakan sehari2. so substitute dgn butter. beres.

air suam dlm resepi tak mencukupi utk menenggelamkan yeast. tambah je la air ikut suka, aku pun kena ingat kena tambah tepung. uli punya uli, duk lembik je. aku sah sah saspen. alaa takpe teruskan. tambah je la tepung sampai dgn 3 cawan. tawakkal je la. siap uli sampai tak lekat, aku biarkan dia kembang. zasss solat zuhur.

by the time adam bangun, aku dah tinggal nak goreng je donut. saiz tak konsisten sbb buat donut pakai tgn je, takde nye cetak2. peralatan utk membuat mknn yg tak selalu buat mmg tak ada! hahaha size does not matter.

mmg berdebar la kan. almost half kg tepung aku buat. goreng, terus glaze, tunggu suam2 jap, terus cubit. masyaAllah, sedapnya~.. terus bg ajek rasa, dia senyum, dia terus bingkas buat kopi. ehemmm his coffee is better than mine.😀

ajek and adam love them so much. lega. byk aku alter, to suit my diebetic diet (konon).. i reduce the sugar for the glaze😀 i also imitate the j.co’s method to fry their donut. hihihi.. i love my donut today!! from the reviews, they said these donuts tasted close to krispykreme. i never tasted any KK donut, but believe me, these are good!!

Crispy and creamy doughnut (allrecipes.com)

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 (.25 ounce) envelopes active dry yeast
  • 1/4 cup warm water (105 to 115 degrees)
  • 1 1/2 cups lukewarm milk
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/3 cup shortening
  • 5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 quart vegetable oil for frying
  • 1/3 cup butter
  • 2 cups confectioners’ sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 4 tablespoons hot water or as needed

DIRECTIONS

  1. Sprinkle the yeast over the warm water, and let stand for 5 minutes, or until foamy.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the yeast mixture, milk, sugar, salt, eggs, shortening, and 2 cups of the flour. Mix for a few minutes at low speed, or stirring with a wooden spoon. Beat in remaining flour 1/2 cup at a time, until the dough no longer sticks to the bowl. Knead for about 5 minutes, or until smooth and elastic. Place the dough into a greased bowl, and cover. Set in a warm place to rise until double. Dough is ready if you touch it, and the indention remains.
  3. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface, and gently roll out to 1/2 inch thickness. Cut with a floured doughnut cutter. Let doughnuts sit out to rise again until double. Cover loosely with a cloth.
  4. Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir in confectioners’ sugar and vanilla until smooth. Remove from heat, and stir in hot water one tablespoon at a time until the icing is somewhat thin, but not watery. Set aside.
  5. Heat oil in a deep-fryer or large heavy skillet to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Slide doughnuts into the hot oil using a wide spatula. Turn doughnuts over as they rise to the surface. Fry doughnuts on each side until golden brown. Remove from hot oil, to drain on a wire rack. Dip doughnuts into the glaze while still hot, and set onto wire racks to drain off excess. Keep a cookie sheet or tray under racks for easier clean up.

    tuty, sungguh ke ko uli.giler ah..aku tang tu la yg aku nak escape..hahahha..boley tak?ko uli dalam aper?logic tak aku nak tanyer soklan neh sbb aku cam teliur gak je bace cerite donut ko neh.
